This site is dedicated to GW, CJ, and KC - my three favorite people in the whole world
- all grown up now.

INTRODUCTION

This site is a collection of writing and thoughts on children, being a parent, and education. Writing that has been and/or will be posted includes/will include (eventually) everything from researched articles, personal-experience pieces, and opinion. In time I plan to add links to reputable resources for information about parenting and children.

My hope is that the material here offers readers some useful information and/or food for thought.

It is my belief that sometimes parents focus so much on what child-care experts say, and on child-development books, they sometimes forget to trust their own judgment, common sense, and instincts.
An article every parent, and anyone planning to become one, should read:

"EARLY BRAIN DEVELOPMENT
What parents and caregivers need to know!"

Two Notes By The Author Of This Blog

1.   As I continue to overhaul much (most, actually) of the online-writing (blogs/accounts) that I've done on a casual/free-time basis, I'm finding that the last pages that seem to be getting my attention are blogs that I set up with a focus on a single subject/theme.  This is one of those blogs.

2.  As may be obvious from some of what appears on this page, this is a blog that I started several years ago when I was writing on a number of "writer platforms" and needed one place to keep writing that was about parenting and/or children.   The blog has undergone on a few different name-changes since I first started it.  Because a) I don't like the name I eventually settled on, and b) I'm moving material, the majority of the blog's 90-plus posts have been "reverted to draft".  (In other words, they're hidden.)

For now, what's here is here (for as long as its here).  Because I'm not at all satisfied with the blog title that I ultimately ended up settling on, and because the "online-writing landscape" has dramatically changed since I first started doing casual writing (around 2005) I don't know what I'm doing with this particular blog (which is one of several that I started with the idea of first posting material and eventually better developing into a "proper" blog).  For now it is what it is.
